  • The second lockdown. November 2020
The solution, the ideals and the reality (as usual rather a stab in a few not comprehensive directions)

    Last week 10-11-2020

The tests in Liverpool have got underway. Surprising however, unless you look for what needs to be the results these days, there is no feedback on what actually has been produced by the activity. Descriptions like 'postive' but off course barring the obvious this also means carrying covid 19, yet no figures, so what is this for?

Today, 10-11-2020 the news has reported figures for deaths as bad a May when the peak occured to my memory. Anyhow over 500 deaths today with covid diagnosed though the symptoms strictly attached to cause of death are not mentioned as I see it (note 1). Has the fear that a deadly strain being at work become more a concern now with no stand out virus virulence and caues of harm. Is the vaccine going to work against something we may have identified but seen spread into other strains currently?

    Life in the quicksand

Currently I am seeing the use of oxygen at work, in a hospital. The treatment seems to be practical and in line with deadly symptoms that are lining up a list of people in real danger.

A call for a united response sees me rather interested that the work which is spontaneous. An all together ideal is somewhat the result on the ground and disgruntlement is replaced with activity, provisionning or requisitioning as you can according to your role.

    xtra news today 27-12-2020

I am a bit sick of the opportunities again as I may be sick from not doing enough. Anyhow, that can be remedied. Here is the news today, holiday makers scarpered on being locked down in Switzerland apparently. 200 or so from 400 in Switzerland left and crossed into France. They would be even less welcome there I would think but this is news, believe it or work it out.

xtra analysis faced with intelligent speakers?

There was a science and debunking set of BBC World Service programs last night which were on the edge of my ears as I did my current coding thing. Fake news added to conspiracy theories and a death for someone in Syria, but there I would think gossip can kill you. It was a bit of a stretch to have more significance for being reported than the life lost really. I wonder now if we have the ability to get over this hurdle with posh clever people working and duncie types slowly losing their big bucks. I was not really taken in that there was anything to learn from someone still earning and still considered intelligent enough to be going on about conspiracies. Then there was scientific reiteration of some of the facts and theories still doing the rounds. This is Sars2 remember and what was SARs one. We face months more of economic worry but still have a very last year fashion sense. Perhaps conspiracy theories are worth mainstream attention to face the brainstorming required.

    This week 21-11-2020

The Liverpool tests are also announced as nearly 153,000 people now, less comprehensive in the so-called north of the city and 2 types of test have been described in the guardian online page links today (note 2). The numbers seem low for a thorough testing procedure at 2,000 positive cases, many asymptomatic though described as a high percentage of the positives in one sentence and yet the overall result of 2,000 new positives in 153,000 is already quite low in another way of looking at statistics. Also 0.6% are false positives, which I think at first glance suggests there could be false negatives too. Those identified by a method called Lateral flow which takes little time and needs no laboratory are further tested by PVC which defines if they are postive.

Theme of change or be changed

I am not strong. I had this as a pet theory. It is less cool to be told it like a taunt, so perhaps it is time to stand up a bit or a lot more. I recall not being bothered to be considered a bit mad until the theory was practice and it is desperate. It was not a taunt with humour thereafter. Well change is what I think is needed and am I a leader for this. This is where the people have been saying I am not strong really I think. It is a challenge to fight to lead but really a challenge that they are in charge. Their leadership is either strong or a challenge it if I am strong enough. Well I see I see it as to do with leadership. It seems little in reality to do with good leadership but I respect the theory a lot. It is a duty to provide good advice and assist others, to lead them if you can. Perhaps strength is perhaps being underestimated by me. I challenge the leaders' as I can see right through their opinions having little weight like a drunk punch.
